By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using JobApp (the "Software"), by using joblogist.com (the "Site"), or by participating in the JobApp Discord community, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use them.
JobApp is operated by an individual developer based in California, United States. Throughout these terms, "we" and "us" refer to that operator.
Upon purchase, you receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software on one (1) device at a time. This is a license to use the Software, not a transfer of ownership. All intellectual property in the Software, the Site, the catalogs and vocabularies it ships with, and the community statistics it produces remains ours.
Your license key is bound to a device by a hardware fingerprint. You may transfer your license to a different device up to three (3) times per year; the counter resets on your purchase anniversary. If you exhaust your transfers because of genuine hardware failure, contact us and we will help.
You may not sublicense, sell, resell, rent, or publicly distribute your license key. You may gift your license to another person, or donate it to the community pool, using the in-app or Discord gifting mechanism.
Keys donated to the community pool are given freely and are not refundable to the donor once claimed. Claiming a pool key does not create a purchase, and pool keys carry the same terms as purchased keys. We may limit how often a person can claim from the pool, and we may withhold or revoke a claim we reasonably believe is being abused.
Some features require either a monthly subscription or a prepaid access block (Global + Community, Discord Only). Monthly subscriptions are billed via Stripe and may be cancelled at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Prepaid access blocks (1, 3, 6, or 12 months) are a single payment with no auto-renewal; access expires at the end of the purchased duration.
Subscription pricing may change with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect, and may cancel before it applies.
If a subscription lapses, your desktop license is unaffected — the desktop application continues to work. Only the subscription-tier features stop.
Desktop App: 15-day money-back guarantee. If you're not satisfied, contact us within 15 days of purchase for a full refund. Your license key is revoked when the refund is issued.
Prepaid access blocks: non-refundable. You retain access for the full purchased duration.
Subscriptions: cancel at any time. No refunds for partial billing periods; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
Nothing here limits rights you may have under mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
You may not: reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software except where that right cannot be waived by law; share your license key or make it publicly available; use automated tools to abuse the licensing, gifting, or pool systems; create multiple accounts to obtain free access; submit deliberately false data to the community statistics; use the Software or community features to harass, spam, defraud, or harm others; or use the community to distribute malware, phishing, or illegal content.
Sharing anonymous community data is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to include the anonymized, coded data your device sends in aggregate statistics, in the intelligence models the product uses, and in publicly displayed aggregates such as the map — for as long as you have not deleted your account.
This license covers only the coded, aggregated data described in our Privacy Policy. It does not cover your application data, notes, contacts, job descriptions, or résumés, which never leave your device and to which we claim no rights whatsoever.
You can revoke this by turning sharing off, which stops future submissions, or by deleting your account, which removes past ones. Statistics already computed and displayed are recomputed on a regular cycle, so a deletion is reflected the next time the affected figures are recalculated.
The community map and the public statistics endpoints are provided for personal, informational use. You may not scrape them systematically, redistribute them as a dataset, resell them, or use them to build a competing product. Automated access that degrades service for others may be rate-limited or blocked.
Figures shown on the map and in community statistics are aggregates over contributing members. They are not a survey, not a census, and not a measurement of the job market. They describe the people using JobApp who chose to share, during the period shown, and nothing more.
JobApp provides insights, analytics, scores, and coaching-style suggestions. These are informational. They are not guarantees, predictions of employment outcomes, or professional career, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
The intelligence layer uses rules, statistical scoring, and machine learning trained on your own history and on aggregate community data. Its outputs carry uncertainty, are frequently based on small samples, and can be wrong. A low score on an application is not a reason not to apply. A regional figure on the map is a statement about volume in that region, not about your odds there.
Decisions about your job search are yours. Please treat the Software as a tool that organizes and informs, not as an authority.
The Software and Site are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, secure, or meet your specific requirements.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Software or Site, including lost data, lost profits, missed opportunities, or employment decisions made in reliance on the Software's outputs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Software or Site is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions; in those places, they apply only to the extent permitted.
Your application data is stored locally on your device and is your responsibility to back up. We have no copy of it and cannot restore it. The Software provides an export function; we strongly recommend using it periodically.
The desktop application works offline and continues to function regardless of server availability. Server-dependent features — community insights, global statistics, the map, update checks, license verification, Discord integration — depend on server uptime, which we strive to maintain but cannot guarantee.
If the service is discontinued, we will provide at least 30 days' notice, and the desktop application will continue to work offline indefinitely.
We may suspend or revoke your license for violations of these terms, including key sharing, abuse of the gifting or pool systems, deliberate corruption of community data, or abusive behaviour in community spaces. In cases of termination for cause, no refund will be issued.
You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the Software and, if you wish, requesting data deletion.
If you participate in the Discord community, you agree to be respectful, supportive, and constructive. Job searching is emotionally difficult; this community exists to help, not to harm. Do not give financial, legal, or medical advice as though you were qualified to. Do not solicit, recruit deceptively, or post scam job listings. Violations may result in removal from community channels, with or without notice.
The Software and Site rely on Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Cloudflare (hosting and delivery), and Discord (community). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or conduct.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by email and/or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect where practical. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you do not accept a change, you may stop using the Software; where a change materially reduces what you paid for, contact us about a pro-rated refund.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
We would much rather solve a problem than argue about it. Please contact us first — most things are fixable in an email. If informal resolution fails, disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, or in small claims court where the claim qualifies.
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Software and Site.
